The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Commission and Governor of the Kemerovo Region – Kuzbass Sergei Tsivilev, as well as representatives of relevant federal and regional executive bodies and organisations.
Igor Levitin noted that industrial production ensures economic development of the country and vital activities of society, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, it is a source of potential danger. The level of industrial safety determines not only the provision of the state with all types of resources and products, but also directly affects the life and health of citizens, as well as preservation of the environmental. Improving industrial safety is a state policy priority.
State Secretary – Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Monitoring Alexander Demin, Deputy Minister of Energy Yevgeny Grabchak, Deputy Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Natural Disaster Relief – Chief State Inspector of the Russian Federation for Fire Supervision Anatoly Suprunovsky delivered reports at the meeting.
The meeting participants discussed the main problems and trends in the development of industrial safety at the present stage.
Following the meeting, recommendations will be drafted for federal and regional executive authorities and economic operators regarding the need to take urgent measures to prevent man-made and natural threats at industrial facilities, as well as to develop a general culture of industrial safety.
