The meeting, held via videoconference, was attended by Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko, Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexei Uchenov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Andrei Chernenko, Rector of St Petersburg Mining University Vladimir Litvinenko and representatives of the relevant federal ministries, executive government bodies of the Russian Federation constituent entities and the business community.
In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin said the issues of saving energy and increasing energy efficiency in the budget sphere directly influences local budgets and will make it possible to reduce expenses on energy in the social sphere and on lighting streets and roads in the future. He emphasised the importance of using domestically produced equipment and technological solutions.
Acting Director of the Department of Competition, Energy Efficiency and Ecology at the Ministry of Economic Development Dmitry Vasin gave a report on the progress in implementing a Presidential instruction to develop a state programme on saving energy and increasing energy efficiency to 2035.
The participants discussed the country’s technological sovereignty in terms of saving energy and enhancing energy efficiency and ways to make the technology needed for these purposes accessible.
The working group will prepare proposals on measures in the budget sphere, as well as on steps to develop import substitution to include these in the state programme.
