Taking part in the meeting were Head of the Republic of Buryatia and Chairman of the State Council Commission on Transport Alexei Tsydenov, heads of federal executive bodies, heads of Russian regions and their deputies in charge of the air transport industry, as well representatives of development institutions and the aviation expert community.
As part of the agenda, the meeting participants discussed government support measures for regional and local air service and proposals on its further improvement. They also spoke about expanding the network of regional and local airports, airfields and air strips.
In their remarks, the participants stressed the potential for the development of light and unmanned aviation, as well as general-purpose aviation. Tapping this potential could help expand local air traffic, promote population mobility, increase employment rates and create added value. In addition, the speakers pointed out the need to train aviation personnel for these segments of civil aviation.
