Together with Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Vladimir Putin will visit the interactive exhibition Orthodox Russia. The Romanovs, commemorating the Romanov dynasty’s 400th anniversary. While the exhibition is on show in Moscow, the miracle-working icon of Fyodorovskaya, the protector of the Romanov house, will be brought to Moscow from Kostroma. The exhibition will have its official opening at the Manezh central exhibition hall on November 4.
A reception will be held later at the Kremlin, at which a number of foreign citizens will receive Russian state decorations for their big contribution to building friendship and cooperation with Russia and developing academic and cultural ties.
The National Unity Day holiday was established in 2005 in memory of the events of 1612, when Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky led a people’s volunteer army to liberate Moscow from foreign occupation.
