This large-scale meeting of the literary community will be held at the People’s Friendship University of Russia and will bring together more than 500 professionals from a wide range of fields: writers, poets, columnists, publishers, literary scholars and translators, school and college teachers of literature, museum and library staff, and theatrical figures from Russia and around the world.
These members of the literary community will discuss current professional issues in the main areas of the literary process, particularly teaching Russian literature and its promotion throughout the world, elements of market relations in publishing and bookselling, issues in modern poetry, prose and drama, and problems in maintaining the nation’s literary heritage.
The gathering’s organisers are descendants of Russian literary classics: Dostoyevsky, Lermontov, Pasternak, Pushkin, Solzhenitsyn, Sholokhov and Tolstoy.
