The President will lay flowers and wreaths at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery and the Nevsky Pyatachok Memorial Complex, and will visit an exhibition displaying the first ever 3D panorama a Great Patriotic War battle, Proryv [The Breakthrough], created by a youth search detachment using money from a presidential grant. Mr Putin will also meet with people who took part in the battle for Leningrad and those who lived through the blockade.
In the evening, the President will attend a performance of the Requiem ballet, dedicated to the city’s liberation.
