The event, which is organised by the Russian Popular Front, begins today and will run for three days. It brings together 400 journalists from 85 regions to discuss a broad range of issues related to the work and development prospects of media in Russia today.
The subjects on the agenda include issues such as how to define criteria for objectivity, the future of print media in the modern information space, and media and the law. Legislative initiatives to regulate social media and defend copyright on the Internet and the development of regional television in Russia will also be discussed.
