Representatives of Russian internet business and investment funds will meet at the Forum to discuss development issues in the sector and interaction with government authorities, funds and entrepreneurs to speed up the internet industry’s development as a major sector of the economy.
The Forum is being organised by the Internet Initiatives Development Fund, which was created to support young IT professionals and entrepreneurs, develop Russia’s internet industry and put in place good conditions for carrying out new high-tech projects of public importance.
The Fund’s establishment was announced in March 2013 at a meeting of the Strategic Initiatives Agency’s supervisory board, chaired by Mr Putin. In November 2013 the President met with the authors of internet projects selected by the Fund for further support. These projects’ results will be presented at the City of Startups exhibition, which Mr Putin is also expected to visit.
