The discussion will focus on the activities of the Civic Chamber and the most pressing current issues, such as interethnic and inter-faith relations, the crisis in Ukraine, and the Civic Chamber’s participation in drafting legal acts, organising public monitoring and the development of civic institutions.
In line with the updated legislation, the Civic Chamber has a total of 168 members (126 before 2014): 40 citizens of the Russian Federation approved by the President of the Russian Federation, 85 representatives of the regional Civic Chambers (including the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol), and 43 representatives of national public organisations and other non-commercial organisations, selected by an online vote.
Work is underway on a draft law On the Civic Chamber of the City of Sevastopol. After it is passed, a representative of Sevastopol will also be selected to the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
