On August 27, the President will hold a regular meeting with Government members to discuss the implementation of the tasks set in the Address to the Federal Assembly and the executive orders of May 2012. The meeting participants also plan to discuss the results of the agreements between the federal and regional authorities aimed at improving the network of municipal social services, and some other current issues.
Vladimir Putin will also visit the Otkrytiye Arena, which is the first home stadium of FC Spartak Moscow.
The facility seats 42,000 and fully meets the FIFA requirements for stadiums of this kind hosting international games. Thus, in 2017, the Otkrytiye Arena will host the Confederations Cup matches, and in 2018 it will be one of the FIFA World Cup venues.
Located on the grounds of the former Tushino airfield, the stadium will not only become the centre of Moscow’s new sports cluster, but also an important part of the infrastructure of the Tushino district, which by 2018 will also receive new housing, office buildings, public facilities and parks.
During his visit to the Moscow stadium, Vladimir Putin will check the status of other 2018 FIFA World Cup venues in Russia’s regions via videoconference.
