On April 6, the President will take part in the opening of the national commemorative event Memory Watch 2015 in Staraya Russa (Novgorod Region). Mr Putin will meet with 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War veterans and representatives of search groups.
Memory Watch encompasses a series of events that include search expeditions, official meetings, reburials of fallen soldiers found by the search groups, and patriotic events to immortalise the memory of those who gave their lives defending their country.
This year, representatives of search groups from 74 of Russia’s regions will take part in the events.
The opening ceremony will feature a presentation of the best projects funded by presidential grants, carried out by public associations taking part in the Search Movement of Russia public movement.
