On June 12, Russia Day, in the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin will traditionally present the 2014 Russian Federation National Awards for outstanding achievements in science and technology, literature and the arts, and in humanitarian activity.
Among this year’s winners are researchers, members of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yevgeny Kablov, Gennady Krasnikov and Valery Tishkov, Director of the Tarkhany Memorial Estate Tamara Melnikova, film director Alexander Sokurov and actress Chulpan Khamatova. An award for outstanding achievements in humanitarian work will be presented to composer Alexandra Pakhmutova.
The ceremony will be followed by a gala reception on the Kremlin’s Ivanovskaya Square to celebrate the national holiday – Russia Day.
