On December 14, on the occasion of the Constitution Day, Vladimir Putin will hold an annual meeting with the Constitution Court judges in St Petersburg. It is expected that the meeting participants will discuss ensuring the rule and direct effect of the Russian Constitutions on the territory of the country, protecting the citizens’ basic rights and freedoms.
On the same day the President will take part in the IV St Petersburg International Cultural Forum in the State Hermitage Museum, in particular in the Forum’s plenary session dedicated to the 70th anniversary of UNESCO. The discussion is expected to focus on the development of the world and Russian cultural life, preservation of cultural heritage and countering the destruction of historical monuments.
On the Forum’s sidelines, Vladimir Putin will meet with UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova.
Also within the framework of the Forum, the President will take part in the ceremony closing the Year of Literature and opening of the Year of Russian Cinema in the Mariinsky Theatre. The Year of Russian Cinema will be held in accordance with the Presidential Executive Order of October 7, 2015.
