On June 7, President of Russia Vladimir Putin will visit the Rossiya Segodnya news agency to congratulate journalists and participants of the New Era of Journalism: Farewell to Mainstream international media forum on the 75th anniversary of the agency.
Russia’s oldest news agency began its history as the legendary Sovinformburo information agency, which started working two days after the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. It was later transformed into the Novosti Press Agency (APN), then RIA Novosti and finally the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.
