This year, in accordance with a presidential executive order, the Hero of Labour medal is awarded to lathe operator at Sevmash Alexei Ivanov; head doctor at a Krasnodar hospital Vladimir Porkhanov; forest ranger from Yakutia Varvara Ustinova; artistic director of Moscow’s Sovremennik Theatre Galina Volchek; , and former Head of Tatarstan and the State Councillor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiyev.
Later that day, the President will chair a Security Council meeting to consider the implementation of the State Anti-Narcotics Strategy through 2020 and discuss additional measures to combat the spread of drug addiction.
Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev will present the keynote report at the meeting.
