As part of the parade, ships will sail the waters of the Neva River and the inner harbour and a naval aircraft unit will perform a flypast.
This year’s naval holiday will be special in that the parade will feature sailors of the Baltic, Black Sea, Northern and Pacific fleets and the Caspian Flotilla.
To conclude the Navy Day celebrations, a reception will be held at the Main Admiralty Building for Navy commanders and officers.
On the same day, Vladimir Putin will visit the St Nicholas Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt where the relics of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov currently remain. The President will also tour a new building of the Kirov Military Medical Academy that houses the Multidisciplinary Clinic.
