On April 10, Vladimir Putin will visit the National Research Centre Kurchatov Institute, where he will learn about the latest scientific developments and take part in a joint meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Scientific Council of the National Research Centre Kurchatov Institute.
The Kurchatov Institute was founded in 1943 and was transformed into a scientific centre in 1991.
The main activities of the centre are the safe development of nuclear power, controlled thermonuclear fusion and plasma processes, nuclear physics of low and medium energies, solid-state physics and superconductivity, as well as meson chemistry.
This year, the Kurchatov Institute celebrates its 75th anniversary.
