On December 12, Vladimir Putin will chair a meeting of the Pobeda (Victory) Organising Committee, present national awards for outstanding achievements in human rights and charity work, and will attend a reception marking 25 years since the adoption of the Constitution

Announcement, December 12, 2018

On December 12, the President will chair the 40th meeting of the Russian Pobeda (Victory) Organising Committee. The main items of the agenda will be preparations to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 and efforts to perpetuate the memory of those who fell during the war.

The Pobeda (Victory) Organising Committee consists of Government members, representatives of the Federation Council, the State Duma, heads of federal executive agencies, and representatives of a number of public veterans and youth associations.

On the same day, Vladimir Putin will present the national awards for outstanding achievements in human rights and charity work.

In 2018, the National Award for Human Rights Activities will be presented to Chairman of the National Society of People with Disabilities Mikhail Terentyev, while the National Award for Charity Work will go to President of Rusfond Charity Fund for Seriously Ill Children, Orphans and Disabled Persons Lev Ambinder.

The Executive Order establishing the awards was signed more than three years ago, and the President held award ceremonies twice. In 2016 he presented the awards to Yelizaveta Glinka and Alexander Tkachenko, director of ANO Children’s Hospice, and in 2017 these awards went to Lyudmila Alekseyeva and Vladimir Vavilov, chairman of a charity fund for children with leukaemia, Republic of Tatarstan.

Later in the day, Vladimir Putin will attend a reception marking the 25th anniversary of the Russian Constitution.

The reception will bring together Government members, representatives of the Federation Council and State Duma, federal executive agencies and judicial bodies, regional governments, as well as religious leaders, representatives of public associations, science and educational organisations.
