The Palace of Water Sports appeared as a result of the renovation of the old open-air swimming pool, which started in 2015. Preserving its architectural shape, the new building significantly expanded its capabilities by having increased its area 2.5-fold. Now the Palace can welcome up to 10,000 visitors a day.
The Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics opened in June 2019 becoming the largest specialised gymnastics centre in the world. The arena meets international requirements and can host major sports events such as the Olympics and world championships. The building was erected at the initiative of President of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and coach Irina Viner-Usmanova.
