Vladimir Putin will visit the Luzhniki Sports Complex, in particular, the International Sambo and Boxing centres. During a tour of the centres’ infrastructure, the President will attend the final bouts of the All-Stars Cup: Combat Sambo League and the opening ceremony of the International Moscow Cup held within the framework of the World Boxing League.
The construction of the seven-floor centre, which houses sambo and boxing facilities with a total floorspace of 45,600 square metres, was completed in 2022.
The main architectural feature of the centre is a sloping glass ceiling with an optical effect, which allows the public to watch athletes’ training from the street. It is the first sports facility in Moscow with this feature.
The new building will be one of the main sambo and boxing centres in Russia.
After that, the President will attend an annual gala concert in the Zaryadye Concert Hall. Before the concert to mark the 875th anniversary of Moscow, Vladimir Putin will take part, via videoconference, in the opening ceremony of the Moscow Sun Ferris Wheel at VDNKh and the section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MHSD) that will connect the Dmitrovskoye and Yaroslavskoye motorways.
The 140-metre-high Moscow Sun will become the largest Ferris wheel in Europe.
The MHSD section linking the Dmitrovskoye and Yaroslavskoye motorways will open traffic from the M11 Federal Motorway in the north to the Kosinskaya flyover in the east of Moscow.
