Adviser to the President and Chair of the Council Yelena Yampolskaya, Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky, as well as representatives of civic organisations, heads of higher education institutions and academic staff of Russia's educational establishments, poets, authors, entertainers, and public figures will take part in the meeting.
The members of the Council will discuss the progress in implementing the President's instructions given following the Council's first meeting, held on November 5, 2024. On the President's instructions, the Council has established a draft of the Basic Principles of State Language Policy.
The discussion will notably focus on:
- issues pertaining to the creation of a single federal line-up of textbooks in Russian and Russian literature and to the maintenance of book stocks of children's and school libraries;
- aid to Russian language and Russian literature teachers in the reunited territories;
- the launch of the Say it in Russian quiz game for young people and the revival of recitation performances in educational institutions.
