Alexander Blagov, 35, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, senior researcher at the Shubnikov Institute of Crystallography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was awarded the prize for developing the scientific basis of tunable X-ray optics for a new class of research instruments.
The theoretical and experimental results obtained by Alexander Blagov open up entirely new opportunities for studying the structure of matter, nanodiagnostics and creating a new class of X-ray equipment that are essential elements of X-ray beam management in modern mega-installations, such as sources of synchrotron radiation and free-electron lasers.
