Fedor Ignatov and Kornely Todyshev received the 2012 President’s Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists

Fedor Ignatov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, senior researcher at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Fedor Ignatov was born on February 2, 1978 in Tyumen

Kornely Todyshev, researcher at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, lecturer at Novosibirsk State University. In December 2012 he defended a PhD thesis in Physics and Mathematics. Kornely Todyshev was born on January 13, 1977 in the village of Askiz, Republic of Khakassia.

Fedor Ignatov and Kornely Todyshev are experts in the field of high energy physics, leading members of experiments to measure the parameters of elementary particles with record accuracy.

Precision measurement of elementary particles’ parameters and their production cross sections in the works of Fedor Ignatov and Kornely Todyshev has particular importance for the verification of theoretical ideas about interaction between particles and is a fundamental problem of high energy physics.

The studies of Fedor Ignatov and Kornely Todyshev were implemented with the use of unique Russian-made equipment: a complex of electron-positron colliders in Novosibirsk (VEPP-2M and VEPP-4M with CMD-2 and KEDR detectors). Their results made it possible to make significant corrections in the International Table of Properties of Elementary Particles. The results of these studies demonstrate the extensive potential of the Russian fundamental science and form the basis for the realisation of future mega-projects, including a new electron-positron collider (Super Tau Charm Factory) developed in the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
