May I take this opportunity to address you just before I make a visit to your State and its capital, the city of Bangalore.
Karnataka has become a world symbol of great achievements of the modern and forward-looking India. Your successes in economic development and the use of state-of-the-art technologies are truly impressive, testifying to the great talent and industry of the Indian people. For Russians, Karnataka is also a special place where Svyatoslav Rerikh lived and worked for over forty years. As you know, Russia and India alike cherish his spiritual and cultural heritage.
We highly appreciate our long-standing warm and friendly relations with India. We strive to develop our multifaceted links and to enrich them with new ideas and business initiatives. We have, in particular, good prospects for effective cooperation in high technologies and R&D sector. This is evidenced by the successful experience of cooperation between Russian industries and research centers and their partners from the Karnataka State.
I am convinced that the synergy of our intellectual, human and technological potential would really serve the interests of our countries and help to consolidate their positions in the field of foreign policy and economic sector.
