President of Russia Vladimir Putin: I would like to wholeheartedly welcome you in Russia and to express my gratitude to you for what you are doing for those Russians who live outside Russia, as well as for your efforts to bring about a full restoration of the unity of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
This is extremely important for the Russian people and this country, as well as for the countries where you live and work. This living spiritual connection is a vital link, especially in this complex and contradictory world.
Today I spoke about the unity of the Russian Orthodox Church, but we can also speak about unity on a broader humanitarian plane, all the more so since all global religions are based on so-called traditional values, which you are working to protect.
I want you to know that you are welcome guests in Russia, no, more than that – you are at home here. We are always happy to see you in Russia. Thank you very much.
