The goal of the convention is to provide the necessary conditions for the efficient functioning of the Eurasian Economic Community, formed on the basis of the Agreement on Establishing the Eurasian Economic Union of October 10, 2000.
In accordance with the Convention, EurAsEC bodies, its administrative officials and staff, and representatives of the Community member states are given corresponding privileges and immunities to effectively fulfil their functions.
The Convention also stipulates other provisions aimed at ensuring that the Eurasian Economic Community functions efficiently.
