The President began his two-day trip to the Volga Federal District on February 21 by visiting the Gorbunov Kazan Aviation
Plant.
On the same day, Vladimir Putin held separate
meetings with the presidents of Republika Srpska, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan,
Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in Kazan.
Next, Vladimir Putin spoke at the grand opening
of the Games of the Future international phygital tournament. At the end of the ceremony, the President, together with the leaders of several CIS countries who
were also in the capital of Tatarstan, visited the sites of the multi-sport
tournament.
On February 22, Vladimir Putin held a working
meeting with the region’s Head Rustam Minnikhanov in Kazan, and also took part,
via videoconference, in a ceremony to mark the opening of medical facilities
and the start of construction of SIBUR Holding’s centre for research and technology
scaling in the republic.
Later, the President flew an upgraded Tu-160M
strategic missile carrying bomber. The plane took off from the Gorbunov Kazan Aviation
Plant. After landing, Vladimir Putin shared his impressions with journalists.
Next, Vladimir Putin drove a KAMAZ truck to the new multi-role roadside service centre near Kazan, where the M12 Vostok motorway
begins. There, the President met with heads of transport and logistics
companies, as well as lorry drivers.
Later in the evening, the President visited the Chuvash Republic, where he took a look at the upgraded paramedic centre in the village of Ryndino and the Centre for Cultural Development in Tsivilsk, where
he twice briefly spoke with local residents. While in Tsivilsk, Vladimir Putin held
a meeting on the socioeconomic development of the region and a working meeting
with Head of the Republic Oleg Nikolayev.
