Greetings on the occasion of the Znaniye Society awards ceremony
Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the Znaniye Society awards ceremony.
The message reads, in part:
“The enlightenment movement in Russia has a rich history full of bright examples of honest and selfless service to the chosen cause, people, and the Fatherland.
It is gratifying that noble and inspiring traditions of selfless edifying work are carried on, and today we celebrate those who whole-heartedly dedicate their lives to exceptionally important and necessary work: mentoring, educating the younger generations based on the high ideals of patriotism and citizenship, caring attitude to national history, culture, and their spiritual roots; and who do a lot to popularise the unique achievements of Russian scientific thought and strive to pass on their professional, life experience to the younger generation.
Of course, I would like to highlight the newly added award nomination: for a significant contribution to preserving and promoting the values of a large and friendly family in society. After all, it is at home, in the family that a person’s personality and mindset are largely formed, as well as such unshakable moral guidelines as love for the Motherland and a sense of belonging to its fate are laid down.
I sincerely congratulate this year’s winners, who represent the most diverse professions and ages: scientists and writers, teachers and journalists, politicians and veterans of the special military operation, as well as young people.”
