The Federal Law empowers the Federal Security Service to send Federal Security Service advisers and specialists to foreign countries by agreement with these countries’ security services or law enforcement agencies in order to fight international crime more effectively.
Russia’s Federal Security Service has signed cooperation agreements with security services and law enforcement agencies in a number of foreign countries (Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Kyrgyzstan). Under these agreements, Federal Security Service personnel may be sent to these countries to provide consultation and methodological assistance to their security services and law enforcement agencies in carrying out search and investigation work and special operations. Further such agreements are expected to be signed.
