The Federal Law was prepared with the aim of implementing Federal Law On Jurisdictional Immunity for Foreign States and Property of Foreign States in the Russian Federation of November 3, 2015 and establishes procedural particularities of examining cases with participation by a foreign state and its representatives.
The Federal Law supplements the Civil Procedure Code and the Arbitration Procedure Code of the Russian Federation with new chapters establishing procedures for filing a claim against a foreign state, issuing judicial summons to a foreign state, jurisdiction in examining cases with participation by a foreign state, the breadth of procedural rights and obligations of a foreign state, and regulation of other procedural issues.
The Federal Law appends Federal Law On Enforcement Proceedings of October 2, 2007 with stipulations establishing particularities in the fulfilment of sentences carried out with regard to a foreign state or its property.
