The agreement was signed on November 2, 2016, in Minsk.
The agreement regulates issues of cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus during joint logistics support for both states’ regional army group (forces), intended as self-defence against possible aggression.
The agreement was signed for a five-year term and can be automatically extended for subsequent five-year terms.
The agreement will help strengthen the security of both states, increase the combat potential of the regional army group (forces), expand military-technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus and will not require additional federal budget funding.
The protocol contains no regulations, other than those stipulated by Russian law.
