Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amending Article 2 and 3 of the Federal Law On the Days of Military Glory and Memorable Dates of Russia and Articles 2 and 11 of the Russian Law on Immortalising the Memory of Those who Died Protecting the Fatherland.

In particular, the Federal Law envisages holding an annual nationwide moment of silence on June 22, the Day of Memory and Sorrow, when the Great Patriotic War began in 1941.
