In accordance with the amendments, the job title of the highest-level official of a Russian federal constituent entity, as set forth by the constitution (charter) of that federal constituent entity in accordance with historical, ethnic, or other traditions, cannot contain words or phrases contained in the job title of the head of state: the President of the Russian Federation.
The constitutions (charters) of the Russian federal constituent entities must be brought into compliance with the Federal Law by January 1, 2015.
