During the telephone conversation, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on his re-election as President of the Russian Federation and expressed confidence that friendly Russian-Iranian relations would continue to actively develop in the interests of both nations.
The leaders discussed current issues of bilateral relations, including the expansion of trade and economic ties and the implementation of large joint investment projects.
In discussing the international agenda, the two leaders touched on, among other things, the crisis situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone and expressed grave concern over the growing number of civilian casualties and the catastrophic worsening of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
It was agreed to further coordinate the activities of Russia and Iran on multilateral platforms, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the BRICS group, which Iran has joined as a full member.
Vladimir Putin sent his best regards to Supreme Leader of Iran Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei and greetings to the people of Iran on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and the Nowruz spring festival.
