The Presidential Executive Office and the Ministry of Telecommunications and Mass Communications, together with the IIDF and autonomous non-commercial organisation Institute for Internet Development, have been instructed to draft proposals for a long-term programme to develop the Russian section of the internet’s information and telecommunications network and related economic sectors.
Instructions to the Government concern, in particular, protecting Russian copyright holders’ rights and preventing unauthorised distribution of films, whether made for cinema or television, via the internet, supporting businesspeople involved in developing the Russian segment of the internet, and promoting Russian technology projects related to internet use in markets abroad, including through activities organised within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
The Transport Ministry has been instructed to examine the IIDF’s proposals to expand use of electronic systems for selling tickets for intercity bus routes.
The Federal Agency for Tourism has been instructed to examine the IIDF’s proposals to use the internet to develop the tourism sector and make information on domestic tourism sites more accessible and attractive.
The Economic Development Ministry has been instructed to examine the IIDF’s proposals to introduce and spread technological solutions for automating and optimising stock management.
The Healthcare Ministry, autonomous non-commercial organisation Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects, and the regional executive authorities have been instructed to examine the IIDF’s proposals on introducing standards for remote medical consultations for the public, with services to be paid for through the compulsory medical insurance system.
The Federal Tax Service has been instructed to examine the IIDF’s proposals on expanding possibilities for individuals to submit their tax returns via the internet.
The Central Bank received a recommendation to examine the IIDF’s proposals on improving procedures for registration by credit organisations of notices of pledge on movable assets used as collateral.
The Internet Initiatives Development Fund received a recommendation to draft proposals on cooperation with state companies on developing the civilian shipbuilding and aircraft manufacturing sectors.
