“Many generations of renowned athletes who started their careers in mass sport have made a remarkable contribution to the history of our Fatherland. Their impressive victories are tremendously important for promoting patriotism among the younger generation: they inspire young people to engage in sports and active leisure pursuits, and promote values of physical fitness and healthy living.
I should note that in recent years we have made considerable efforts to create accessible, comfortable and quality sports infrastructure, with work implemented to build new stadiums and advanced sports centers, and to upgrade sports grounds near educational institutions and in courtyards. And, of course, our main priorities include developing professional sports and training future champions and record-holders.
In this regard, words of particular appreciation go to mentors, coaches and instructors – all those involved in the sports sphere. It is largely due to your professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment that Russia has been and will always be a great sports nation.”
