Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting on implementation of the May 7, 2012 presidential executive orders

On May 7, Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting in the Kremlin on the implementation of the eleven presidential executive orders signed exactly one year ago on the day of his inauguration.

Announcement, May 7, 2013

The executive orders set the main policy outlines for Russia’s development in the political, socioeconomic, military, scientific, education, and other spheres.

Earlier, Mr Putin outlined the main tasks and objectives for improving key areas of state policy in a series of articles published in leading Russian newspapers during the presidential election campaign. Their basic principles were then set out in the 11 executive orders Mr Putin signed on May 7, 2012: On Measures to Implement the Russian Federation Foreign Policy; On Further Improvements to Military Service in the Russian Federation; On Implementing Plans (Programmes) for Building and Developing the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Other Troops, Military Units and Agencies, and Modernising the Military Industrial Complex; On Ensuring Interethnic Unity; On Main Directions of Developing the System of Public Administration; On Measures to Provide Affordable and Comfortable Housing to the People of the Russian Federation and to Improve the Quality of Housing and Utilities Services; On Long-term State Economic Policy; On Measures to Implement State Social Policy; On Measures to Implement the Demographic Policy of the Russian Federation; On measures to Implement State Policy in Science and Education; and On Improving State Policy in Healthcare.

The President instituted the practice of regular topic-based meetings with the Presidential Executive Office and the Government as a means of monitoring the executive orders’ implementation.

All Cabinet ministers, Presidential Executive Office senior officials, and the plenipotentiary presidential envoys in the federal districts have been invited to take part in the meeting.
