Magomedsalam Magomedov said that despite the long distance between the two countries, Russia and Nepal share common principles in the sphere of public life. “First of all, this involves providing for peace and harmony in a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional country,” he noted.
The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office spoke about the great importance of the effective implementation of state ethnic policy to ensure the prosperity of society. He shared Russia’s experience in this area.
Mr Rishi Ram Ghimire pointed out a growing interest among Russian citizens in the nature, culture and history of Nepal, which was reflected in a significant increase in tourism. The ambassador also addressed the subject of promoting economic, transport and cultural ties between the two countries and spoke in detail about Nepal’s interest in studying Russia’s best government and public practices in the sphere of harmonising inter-ethnic relations.
At the end of the meeting, Magomedsalam Magomedov and Rishi Ram Ghimire expressed confidence in the need to further develop and strengthen friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
