During his official visit to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at a memorial in the Ata Beyit National Memorial Complex honouring those killed during the tragic events of 1916.
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Minister of Culture, Information, Sport and Youth Policy Altynbek Maksutov also attended the ceremony.
The Ata Beyit Complex that includes a number of monuments and memorials, sculptural compositions and a museum was established in order to restore and preserve historical memory of the most important stages in the development of Kyrgyz statehood.
