The event was attended by Governor of Voronezh Region Alexander Gusev, officials from the Presidential Executive Office, members of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations, officials from federal bodies of authority and government bodies of the constituent entities and municipalities of the Central Federal District, as well as representatives of educational institutions and the research and expert community.
In his remarks, Magomedsalam Magomedov outlined the main areas for implementing the state national policy strategy in the Central Federal District, the most important of which is the strengthening of Russia’s civic identity. He noted positive dynamics in citizens’ assessment of interethnic relations in the federal district. The most recently held polls show that over 80 percent of the population assesses them positively.
In addition, the workshop meeting participants discussed the situation in the sphere of migration, the prevention of interethnic conflicts, the implementation of sociocultural adaptation measures and social integration of migrants and their children. Corresponding decisions were made following the discussion.
Magomedsalam Magomedov and Igor Shchegolev also held a working meeting with Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev to discuss interethnic relations and socioeconomic development of the region.
