In St Petersburg, Nikolai Patrushev presented the staff of the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard with a state award. It was awarded the Order For Valiant Labour by the Presidential Executive Order in recognition of the plant’s services to the country in developing new military and civilian products, and for its great contribution to strengthening and developing Russia's defence potential.
On the same day, a ceremonial launching of a mine countermeasures vessel (MCV) of the Alexandrite project took place at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard. The ship was named after Polyarny, a city of military glory.
The Presidential Aide also took part in the ceremony to mark the 95th anniversary of St Petersburg State Marine Technical University, where he greeted the university’s faculty, retired staff and students on the milestone date and awarded them with the Letter of Acknowledgment from the President of the Russian Federation. In his remarks, he noted that the university’s teachers, scientists, postgraduates, employees and students were talented and dedicated people: “The faculty’s characteristic professionalism and energy made it a unique research and educational centre where science and innovation merge, where ideas and discoveries are born, and where technologies of the future are created,” the Presidential Aide emphasised.
In Shlisselburg, Leningrad Region, Nikolai Patrushev visited the Nevsky Shipyard, where he discussed its financial and economic performance, as well as the current and future workload, and the need for technological and technical overhaul of production facilities.
In Kirovsk, the Chairman of the Marine Board inspected the activities of Ladoga Plant, which is part of the state-owned company NPO Aurora Concern, and discussed issues related to manufacturing shipbuilding equipment, including equipment designed and mass-produced as part of import substitution.
There, he held a meeting on the development of production of marine robotic systems.
Additional measures aimed at developing Russian technologies for manufacturing marine robots, including unmanned boats, communication, navigation and control systems were discussed. It was stressed that the development of marine robotic systems is a promising area of marine fleet development.
On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, Mr Patrushev visited the Lifting of the Leningrad Siege Museum Reserve and laid flowers at the Boundary Stone memorial, honouring the memory of the heroic defenders of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War.
