Taking part in the meeting were Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Igor Levitin, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, First Deputy Finance Minister Leonid Gornin, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov, chairs of State Council commissions for socioeconomic development, as well as governors and deputy governors.
The working group’s Chair, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, and Andrei Belousov emphasised the importance for the Government and the Russian regions to work closely to ensure that the economy and the social safety net benefit as much as possible from the decisions at the federal level while taking into consideration the specific nature and needs of the Russian regions.
Marat Khusnullin briefed meeting participants on the steps designed to support the construction sector against the backdrop of the sanctions.
Leonid Gornin provided a review of the regions in terms of their fiscal equilibrium and reported on the Finance Ministry’s plans to provide them with financial support.
Tula Region Governor and Chair of the State Council Commission on Industry Alexei Dyumin and Vasily Osmakov reviewed the status of industry and discussed new proposals from the regions to support manufacturers.
Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov, who also chairs the State Council Commission on Transport, presented recommendations to ensure the uninterrupted operation of transport and shipping logistics in the regions.
Moscow Region Governor and Chair of the State Council Commission on Communications, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy Andrei Vorobyov, Chelyabinsk Region Governor and Chair of the State Council Commission on Economics and Finance Alexei Teksler, and Kaliningrad Region Governor and Chair of the State Council Commission on SMEs Anton Alikhanov presented the initiatives their respective commissions have put forward for the plan of priority measures to promote economic growth in Russia against the backdrop of sanctions. Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis discussed proposals to develop the northern territories.
The additional recommendations developed following the meeting will be considered by the Government of the Russian Federation.
