Speaking at the meeting, Mr Magomedov said that serious economic, demographic and technological changes are placing tougher demands on education, while improving it is becoming a key goal for the state and society.
Presenting the Russian Academy of Education development programme through 2020, the Academy’s President Lyudmila Verbitskaya mentioned a number of advantages that can help the institution to meet the strategic goals in education sciences. According to Ms Verbitskaya, scholarly traditions, full-fledged academic schools, extensive experience in implementing projects in science and education, well-established cooperation on and coordination of research activities with the country’s leading academic and educational centres, and the intellectual potential of Academy members are the factors that can make a momentous contribution to solving theoretical and practical issues, and formulating the national education policy.
The Board of Trustees supported the development programme, which aims to boost research efficiency in education sciences.
