The President inspected transmission manufacturing shop No. 115, Uralvagonzavod’s unique production project. This is the first production facility in the recent history of the Tagil enterprise that was built and equipped from the ground up so it would be ready to go into operation on day one.
The shop supports all types of mechanical processing, arranged according to technological criteria, that are needed in the full-cycle manufacturing of parts for any transmission. The main and priority types are processing on lathes, milling and gear-processing computer-programmed machines.

In addition to parts for special equipment, the new shop provides options for the manufacture of civilian products.
Next, Vladimir Putin visited assembly shop No. 130, the tank conveyor. The President was explained how various systems of combat vehicles were installed, and shown products ready to be shipped to the troops.
The President was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Urals Federal District Vladimir Yakushev and Aide to the President Maxim Oreshkin. The tour was led by Uralvagonzavod Director General Alexander Potapov.
Vladimir Putin also spoke briefly with the company’s employees.

The Dzerzhinsky Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation is one of Russia’s largest manufacturers of military equipment, road construction machines, and railway cars. The plant was established in 1936. Today it produces a diverse array of over 200 types of products.
Its facilities produce the T-14 tank on the Armata platform, the T-90M Proryv tank, the upgraded T-72B3M tank, as well as tank support combat vehicles and armoured engineering vehicles.
