The message said, in part:
“From ancient times, farming has always been honoured and respected in our country. It demands special human qualities. Real success is achieved by those who love their land, care for and manage it responsibly and put genuine enthusiasm into their work.
Russia’s agribusiness sector has undergone considerable change over recent years. People are making ever greater use of new, innovative technology, making production and processing more efficient, and improving living standards in the countryside. We must build on these positive trends and make the sector genuinely modern and competitive.
Today, I want to make particular mention of agribusiness sector workers in the Far East. You are going through difficult times, as the floods have caused great damage to your crops. The state authorities will do everything possible to help you get through these difficulties. Generally, developing the agribusiness sector and supporting Russian producers will always be one of our key national priorities.”
