The Agreement was signed in Moscow on May 28, 2012.
The Agreement establishes a duty-free regime for trade in goods between the two countries. A number of goods are exempt from the regime, including sugar, alcohol and tobacco products.
Under the Agreement, export duties can be set for a number of goods in cases that come under the provisions of Russian law.
The Agreement also contains provisions for the gradual abolition of customs duties imposed on imports of goods from Russian customs territory to Abkhazia’s customs territory.
