President Vladimir Putin with Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Council of Muftis of the Muslim Board for European Russia, and Mufti Magomed Albogachiev, chairman of the Coordination Centre of North Caucasian Muslims and of the Muslim Board for Ingushetia.
Mr Putin said that the terrorist attack aimed, in particular, to instigate interreligious strife and drive in a wedge between religions and peoples.
He thanked the Muslim clergy for its civic stance in the fight against terrorism. He said he hoped that those who opposed terrorists would receive moral support.
