In the next 10–15 years Europe will clearly be in need of additional energy resources. Accordingly, cooperation with Russia will be the most economically advantageous option. According to Vladimir Putin, the section of the gas pipeline crossing Polish territory is not yet working to its full capacity and its potential could be increased.
Even if the agreement on the construction of the North European gas pipeline on the Baltic Sea floor is implemented, Europe will still need more gas supplies, the president pointed out. Therefore, Russia is ready to consider possibilities for increasing the transportation of energy resources, including via Polish territory.
When touching upon about the results of his meeting with Aleksander Kwasniewski, Vladimir Putin also announced that the Russian and Polish foreign ministries would be entrusted with reviewing the issue of simplifying visa restrictions between Kaliningrad and Poland.
