Mr Putin, Mr Tkachev, Mr Luzhkov and Mr Mostovoi discussed projects for man-made areas, including artificial islands. Mr Putin said that old territories should not be forgotten. He stressed that infrastructural development always benefited the urban population, as the Moscow experience proved.
Governor Alexander Tkachev briefed the President on the development of grain production in the Krasnodar Region. Mr Putin said it was unacceptable to raise food prices and called for prices that corresponded to public incomes.
As he described the situation in the entire region, Mr Tkachev said that the budget of the Krasnodar Region had grown from 13 billion roubles to 40 billion, the economic growth rate reached 10% and the region ranked third, after Moscow and St Petersburg, for attracted investments.
Mr Luzhkov briefed the President on the situation in Moscow. He said the industrial output grew by more than 15% within eight months and aggregate investments reached $6.6 billion for the half-year.
