Energy security was one of the main subjects discussed at the Russian-Hungarian Talks.
Speaking about cooperation with the European Union countries in the energy sector, Mr Putin promised that Russia would always fulfil its commitments under the contracts it concludes.
At the same time, Russia is constantly increasing its energy supplies to European consumers and this requires diversification of supply routes. The President said that the North European Gas Pipeline currently under construction in the Baltic Sea and the Blue Stream gas pipeline that crosses the Black Sea are possible alternatives to Russia’s traditional energy export routes. Projects to build new gas pipelines in southern Europe also create new opportunities for expanding the energy partnership.
All of this work will contribute to increasing energy security on the European continent.
